I am lucky enough to be working on the Vancity PNE Member Day and I wanted to share it with all of you because I think that really is somthing to get excited about.
What: Vancity Member Day – you and one friend each pay only $5 (+HST) for a Fair Gate Pass-this is normally $20 a person
When: From 11 am-late on Tuesday, August 24th
Who: Vancity members and one very lucky friend
How: Members flash their Vancity MEMBER CARD® debit card or Vancity enviro Visa* card – then that member and their lucky friend get a Fair Gate Pass for only $5(+HST).
Where: Tickets can be purchased at any PNE gate on August 24th only. The main gate is at Hastings St and Renfrew St

Involving youth as volunteers / leaders in community life develops a habit community involvement. My neighbourhood is Sunset. The youth are awsome.

I'd like to learn how to take great pictures, invite my friends over for parties, learn french, continue surfing and begin an indoor soccer team.

I'd like to get into photography, host parties for my friends, learn french and start up an indoor soccer team.

Community begins with people getting together and working together on a project.

My Own Back Yard is building a kids playground across the streeet from their garden site.

Design Day is Sunday, Apr.5 - 11 am to 1230 pm
Build Day is Saturday, Jun.6 - 8 am to 2 pm

Be part of the change, one person at a time

On reflection I see that '2008' could have been a much better year but I got caught up in dwelling on whats 'Bad' than appreciating everything Good. My resolution & promise to myself for '2009' is to be Positive & always happy :)& to always look for the Silver Lining on every cloud. Its been 29 days & I'm going strong & all Smiles.

Youth have ideas it's getting people to listen. Sounds just like entrepreneurs. 25 youth have developed short term projects with measurable outcomes - now it's time to make it happen.
