Jan to May plastic consumption. Ain't that dipping sauce cup happy!

I’ve finished month #5 living the ‘no-new-plastic’ pledge. And I gotta say….it’s been a bad plastic month.

I’ve almost doubled the size of my plastic shrine since April and it could have been prevented if I had just avoided two PlasticBlondeMoments....

EnviroWoman strikes the plastic-free Toilet Paper motherlode

Hey, squeeze this Mr. Wimple! EnviroWoman is talking toilet paper.

Admit it…you’ve been waiting for it.

As early as January 1st, when the no-new-plastic pledge was made, EnviroWoman knew finding plastic-free TP was going to be a challenge.

Guess how people in Third World countries do WITHOUT toilet paper? Can we learn something?

Funny Picture -- Who Needs Toilet Paper?.

Anybody travel in the poorer parts of the world and wonder how they afford costly imported toilet paper? Do some research and share your discovery, too. (I know the answer.)

 Just a little humour below..

Scroll through these archives for an often hilarious, sometimes glorious, almost always ridiculous re-cap of toilet paper's illustrious history. My faves are the 'waldorf', 'medicated toilet paper' and the 'nile queen crepe'.

In seriousness, there is a larger conversation here on ChangeEverything.ca about toilet paper. And not the kind where people are debating the virtues of scrunching vs. rolling. The kind that discusses sustainable options for this very critical little part of all our lives. if you have any tips on toilet paper that comes wrapped in something other than plastic, and that is made from recycled material that does not deplete our trees - please pipe up!

Apparently, there is even another way to reduce toilet paper consumption (see photo)

Now, this is not the $30 device I referred to in my earlier post. However, some people out there seem to be creative, so here is a photo of their toilet-paper reduction scheme.

Its just a little humour .. very little.

Cheers!

From "The Times" magazine in UK

TOILET PAPER: At our events and magic shows, people are really surprised to learn that the use of toilet paper can be reduced drastically, or even eliminated, with a $30 device that takes 15 minutes to install. (I don't sell this product.) I have this at home myself. What is it? Do a Goggle search on mystery device that saves trees and dollars and Solar Power Roadshow, and you'll find out, while having fun looking for it.
