We spent 12 hours in Vancouver, some of it on the streets and on transit. Using WGWT I was able to engage with people, learn about work, career, hopes and aspiraitons.

A bus driver said , that this new job is more enjoable because she's make a conscious effort to have fun.As I watched her in action, she did that, and showed kindness and humour to her riders.

Why are people so stressed?

Eliminate Stress

Everywhere I go people are in a hurry, stressed, busy and placing unreasonable expectations on others.  It seems to me, I need to slow down.  I'm just as guilty as these crazy people that come into our lives and expect - not to wait, get exactly what they want, get the best deal, do as little as possible, have someone else do it for you, etc......

I have been in the line up Tim's and two individuals cut into the line up of 20 others who were patiently waiting their turn.  Their excuse for rudeness...They were in a hurry.  Big deal.  What is wrong with people.  What makes them better than the other 20 people in line.   This is happening everywhere you go.  Why is everyone in such a hurry?  Has society created this?

I know it's going to be really hard to do this, but I intend to slow down. Appreciate life more and do less in a much better way. There is an almost irresistable urge to do more all the time and it is constantly reinforced by everyone in our culture. I want to experiment with doing less and slowing down.

Letting go of Resistance even more - flow more with life

Try out Change Everything

Letting go of resistance, means being able to relax with life.  One of the ways to let go and flow is to allow everyone in our lives and society to be exactly who they are, which often means letting go of the control we have on them to perform or act in a way that only benefits us. It's one of the ways we ensure our happiness.  As long as people act the way we want them to, then we are happy!  It's also one of the ways we disempower ourselves.

Email Hell

Written by Sloan

What has the working world come to? In the good 'ol days people used to have fullsome conversations, write comprehensive and well thought out memos and letters etc. Now, they pepper you with dozens of erratic and fragmented emails. On average I only get about 1-2 hours of desktime a day but receive 70-80 emails each day as well. Needless to say I don't get through them all and they pile up over the days/weeks.

Reduce the number of emails I get

Help! I am in meetings for at least half of every day and cannot begin to get through the 80 emails I receive every day. Communication in the working world has become way too fragmented. I would be more productive and less stressed if my In Box was more m
