Why are people so stressed?

Written by Relaxing
Eliminate Stress

Everywhere I go people are in a hurry, stressed, busy and placing unreasonable expectations on others.  It seems to me, I need to slow down.  I'm just as guilty as these crazy people that come into our lives and expect - not to wait, get exactly what they want, get the best deal, do as little as possible, have someone else do it for you, etc......

I have been in the line up Tim's and two individuals cut into the line up of 20 others who were patiently waiting their turn.  Their excuse for rudeness...They were in a hurry.  Big deal.  What is wrong with people.  What makes them better than the other 20 people in line.   This is happening everywhere you go.  Why is everyone in such a hurry?  Has society created this?

Do Societies have a tipping point??

The changeeverything.ca website had a poll on environmental change and tipping points which got me wondering if societies have a tipping point. Is there a point at which the imbalances within a society become so pronounced that a massive rebalancing with its attendant “natural disasters” is unavoidable?

At this point in considering this question I am not exactly sure what such a rebalancing would look like, but it would undoubtedly be chaotic with a frightening potential for violence.

The Beauty of Babel

Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett play amidst an international cast in this modern day reflection on the consciousness of society. For the audience the trick is to get beyond our own arrogance about who, what, and where we are in our own ideologies socially, economically, and politically, and to really witness the humanity and needs of humanity at the deepest part of our being.

In this movie, we see social stigma, cultural stigma, and a system that defines how we manage our societies around the world. Looking closely you can see how we act out against this system, act out against each other, and how we impose ourself and our views upon one another. It was a good movie, an intelligent movie, with what I feel has the potential for great social impact. The trick is to look beyond your own class, your own society, and to look deeply into the heart of each character in each culture.

What is beauty

I want to be a part of a shift in how we express and appreciate beauty. For example, growing up, I was taught that being thin was really important. It has been amazing to look at this as a grown up - the impact it has had on me has been tremendous. But thinness is not the only weird thing we strive for impossibly. That's why I love the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty, not only because it is a huge initiative by a skin care cosmetics company, but because the people behind it seem to genuinely want to shift the way we see beauty. Industrial Society Destroys Mind and Environment

Dear Group Members,

I want to share my article with you. This is about the link between Mind and Social / Environmental-Issues. The fast-paced, consumerist lifestyle of Industrial Society is causing exponential rise in psychological problems besides destroying the environment. All issues are interlinked. Our Minds cannot be peaceful when attention-spans are down to nanoseconds, microseconds and milliseconds. Our Minds cannot be peaceful if we destroy Nature.
