In 2 more days, I will be speaking in front of 500 delegates at UBC's The Briefing to present my cause to get new socks for the homeless in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside through Raincity Housing.
I don't want to see an urban green space removed from Victoria's park inventory. I think this is a dangerous prececent setting move. The dilema is where to build a badly needed Streetlink shelter? Can we not utilize a preexisting building/property?
Mercy's Reach Rabbit Refuge is a non-profit society acting on behalf of abandoned and unwanted pet rabbits, not only in Langley, but across Canada. They have reduced the number of feral rabbits by literally thousands over the past 2 years, which significantly reduces the threat to local farmers and their land.
I love my dog Lucy more than anything I can think of. Technically I rescued her from a shelter 6 years ago, but really, we both know that she rescued me. She is the best friend I have ever had. She has taught me some of the most important lessons I have learned, and she makes me laugh every day with her crazy border collie antics. I read this post this morning and immediately knew I wanted to get involved.
