My friend has arrived and my place is getting cleaner.

As planned, I took two truckloads of recyclable materials to the Vancouver Transfer Station on Friday. Since most of it was already in an outside storage area, it was a way to make more space for my own stuff to be removed from of my living space.

I want to be a part of a shift in how we express and appreciate beauty. For example, growing up, I was taught that being thin was really important. It has been amazing to look at this as a grown up - the impact it has had on me has been tremendous. But thinness is not the only weird thing we strive for impossibly. That's why I love the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty, not only because it is a huge initiative by a skin care cosmetics company, but because the people behind it seem to genuinely want to shift the way we see beauty.
