The Space Centre has invited the Vancouver Electric Vehicle Meetup to set up a booth in their lobby on March 20th as part of Sustainable Spring Break 2008. It's a great opportunity for you to meet some EV riders, and to learn about the joy of riding EVs.
Announcing a new monthly Meetup of The Vancouver Electric Vehicle Meetup!
In addition to the EV owners that count themselves among the ranks of The Vancouver Electric Vehicle Meetup, and who come out for the monthly Kilowatt Hour ride on the second Friday of each month, there are quite a few EV-curious folks wanting to connect with us. Now you can!
So inspired by my experience with my own electric scooter, I've decided to start The Vancouver Electric Vehicle Meetup: http://ev.meetup.com/1
Meet with other electric vehicle owners to share experiences, advice, and information. Talk shop, show off modifications, and trade equipment. Get purchasing advice, battery handling tips, and pointers on how to conduct your own repairs. Exchange information about routes, road safety, and EV style.
Most importantly, join us every second Friday of each month for the Kilowatt Hour; an electrified one-hour ride celebrating electric vehicles of all types and wheel counts!
George and Dick give a tax credit for buying a hybrid car. I don't understand why Canada doesn't offer the same thing, especially given that hybrids are proportionally more expensive here than in the States.
