When: Victoria Day – Monday May 24, 1-3 pm
(followed by ales fit for royalty at Tidewaters Pub, 3-5 pm)

Where: 10300 block River Road, Delta; near River Road & Centre Street. (Take the 640 bus: 10 minutes from Scott Road Skytrain or 15 from Ladner Exchange)

The Delta Town Hall meeting last Saturday rocked, with a resounding NO to the South Fraser Perimeter Road. Whooppee!

The Ride to Stop Gateway
Welcome Al Gore to Vancouver and Demand Action on Climate Change

Send a strong message to Premier Campbell that Gateway is the wrong way.
Rail and buses not highways.

Continue to speak out against the Gateway project: It's not too late, it's not a done deal!!

Here are some reasons (Source: SPEC):

1) There's no money (feds won't contribute)
2) It makes no sense (prohibitive cost)
3) There's no proof it would help
4) There's no support (the GVRD has voted to oppose the project)
5) There's no time -- we need solutions now, to climate change and traffic congestion.

If you're able to distribute flyers for a couple of hours in North Surrey on Sunday, 6 May, it will make a difference. Thanks! - Bonnie

Background: the four Surrey New Democrat seats are the biggest block to New Democrats formally opposing Gateway. Many residents in this area believe the myth that twinning Highway #1 will solve congestion. This is a PRIORITY EDUCATION AREA. All help is greatly appreciated.
