In 2 more days, I will be speaking in front of 500 delegates at UBC's The Briefing to present my cause to get new socks for the homeless in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside through Raincity Housing.
Compassion and Kindness is my passion. As an artist, I often come in touch with a lot of perspectives that heightens my awareness of my surroundings, society, people and other living beings. I like to help create a more compassionate and kinder community locally and internationally that is self-sustainable.
Watching this video made me laugh, cry, swell up with appreciation for the beauty of the human heart and be extremely proud of my financial co-op, Vancity.

I wish more people would get out and donate blood. I go about every two months, and yesterday made m y 21st or 22nd donation. I started up a Partners for Life program at work, to invite and encourage the people at my company [over 100 staff] to go out and donate, and I got about 9 donors last year. 9. How can we do it though? Giving is simple and it maybe takes awareness and sensitivity and little time. Giving what is needed at the time.
How do we bring more heart into the community of old people? I have a friend that is 87 years old and she is my soulmate. She moved to Toronto three years ago. She has a strong spirit and inspires me all the time. I want to give back to the community. I want to give back to the seniors.
Seniors and children have a lot of wisdom and I love there company.
My resolution for the next year is to work for seniors, and, not only in a for-pay situation. I resolve to also volunteer my time. Our senior citizens need the Heart because there are a lot of lonley old people out there.
