Help re-open the Banff Mineral Springs Hospital Obstetrics Program and stop the closure of small town birthing wards.

Citing a shortage of nursing staff and not wanting to jeopardize patient safety, Banff Mineral Springs Hospital has (temporarily) closed the Obstetrics Program. Because I cannot be there to physically show my support to my close friends and the community, I want to do what I can help reverse this decision and urge the Hospital, Covenant Health, the Alberta provincial government and the Calgary Health Region to re-open the ward and allow small town parents to have personal, calming hospital birthing experiences and support.

Hi everyone,

I’m new at blogging and not all that computer savvy but I found this website and really want to be a part of it. I love reading about the positive changes being made and I hope you find my ‘change’ interesting too.

I met Mara three years ago. I was facilitating a 4 day workshop for people who wanted to learn about Job Search. As usual, on day one, I asked everyone to ‘tell us a little bit about your self.’ I learned that she had arrived in Vancouver two days previous, from Uganda, Africa.
