Wintertime with its below freezing temperatures can be physically devastating for both children and adults. I would like to be the catalyst in my community to begin a blanket/coat donation drive.
I read in the paper this morning that Vancouver is expecting -17 degree temperatures by Sunday. That is frickin cold. Especially if you live outside - as over 2500 people in Vancouver do.
Hi everyone,I work at Vancity, and am one of Kate's colleagues. The closer December gets, the colder it is getting , and there are so many people who don't have a warm home to go to. Our department thought it might be a good idea to do another winter clothing drive this year. So far we've managed to gather a few warm coats, sweaters, and gloves to be donated to Triage Emergency Services. If you've got any hats, scarves, gloves, coats, sweaters, or anything you feel you are able to donate please contact me. We were hoping to deliver the items to the shelter on the evening of December 7th. Last year's got hats collection was a great success thanks to so many of you, hopefully together we can help make a difference this year as well.
