When this challenge to write about the change in my life came up several months ago I had no idea where I'd be heading. Yes, I thought maybe I'd get some more writing. I thought I'd focus on some of my personal writing/foto projects that were being neglected because I was so busy the last couple of years.
A friend of mine suggested this incredible environment and I popped in to take a look. How can I not post something? Anything? I must.
I've been invited to so many blogging communities over the last year due to the content I write for my website and for the initial blogging community that I began with 2 or 3 years ago. I've hotlinked them here so you can check them out. The Mindsay blogging community had me voted the best reading blog last year - an informal vote begun by a member of the community.
You're right: banks don't have a stake in social networking. But Vancity isn't a bank; it's a community-based financial institution that is as interested in making our community work as it is in making money. And these days, community is more and more about what happens online, which is why we thought we could play a role in helping use the Net as a tool to support community development in the Lower Mainland and Victoria.
