As a result of the few letters I have written, I know of at least 8 other people that have written the Chair and Board of Metro Vancouver to express their concern regarding the inclusion of incinerators in the region's waster management plan.
Helen Spielgelman of Zero Waste Management Vancouver, assures me that while it seems like a small number, it is significant, because so few people actually write to their representatives. The standard ratio they measure by is that 1 letter represents the views of 400 additional people that are concerned but didn't bother to write.
