in the civil war in el Salvador in the eighties many children were kidnapped by the army and sold for adoption. some of them have been traced, some were never heard from again. there is a program called Probuscera run by a great active priest, father Cortina. his program has nothing to do with religion, he just has all the community connections.

they do a painstaking job of tracking the sources and re uniting. some children were adopted in el Salvador, others in the states. the ones that did found out about their background are very grateful and say it filled in gaps in their questions about their lives and has helped them with their growth. of course there is hardly any funding for this program and opposition form the army.. it would be nice to help....
