Blogging tips
Wondering what to write about in your blog? Here are a few ideas that can help you make the most of your ChangeEverything.ca experience.
- Your first blog post on a change should set the stage for those that follow. Is this going to be intimately personal, politically charged, funny and irreverent? Give your readers – and the folks who might join you in making the change – a good sense of what they can expect.
- Early on, make the case for your change. Why do you want to do this? What experiences have you had that make you want to change this thing – and how will it look once you have?
- Specifics and stories make for better, more compelling reading. Talk about particular experiences you've had that have shaped your outlook on this change. Or tell us about a person or place that's made you see things differently.
- Read something on someone else's ChangeEverything.ca blog that's inspired you, or triggered some thoughts? Write a blog post about it, and link back to the original post. You may be starting a conversation with the other writer.
- If you've found something unique and valuable online that has to do with your change, blog it. Include a link to the online resource, and explain – in detail, or just briefly – why you found it interesting.
- Made any progress toward achieving your change? Blog it, because we'll want to know. But tell your readers about your setbacks as well.
- Need some help? Have a question? Wondering what to do next? Turn your question or request into a blog post. This is a community of people who want to make positive change, so you may be surprised at how much of a response you get.
