Think I can run faster than David Suzuki?

I'm about to find out, because we're both racing in this year's Earth Run!

Actually, it's almost certain that he's gonna shame me. The man is FIT (and at 73 no-less).

But you can lessen my shame by helping me raise money for the David Suzuki Foundation. I have to keep in David's good books (he's the boss, after all!)

I haven't really explained the format of our training with the TEAM. TEAM in Training is organized by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada. There is a group of dedicated full time staff that help in collecting donations from participants that will in turn help the Society.

Eat Local and Organic

Written by Run For One Planet

Especially for heavier items that take extra time, energy, and carbon emissions to haul around the world, purchase foods that are produced locally and organically. A well-balanced diet of vegetables and fruits can easily serve you over 20 different delicious pesticides each day! And before you even take your first bite, all those pesticides are affecting the soil, the water, the farm workers, the wildlife, and the planet. So each time you buy organic food, you help break that cycle.

A Test...Not Exactly Passed

Run a Marathon
china creek

So I went for a run last night. Just a little one - once around the mulch track at China Creek park - but it didn't go as well as I had hoped. I had been feeling better and, planning this little test days in advance, I pictured myself falling right back into stride as if nothing had ever happened, going on to complete the 6 K at tempo that was on my running schedule for yesterday.

Run a Marathon
hair ties

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and a journey of 26.2 miles begins with having your hair in order. OK, maybe not really. That might be a little extreme, but it is no joke that I would become completely undone around mile # 24 if I had to keep dealing with hair flapping in my face.
