Today, Earth Day, the 'Get Out Migration' begins -- to support wild salmon, and demand the removal of industrial fish farms from the BC coast. Alexandra Morton, and countless numbers of concerned citizens, start their 'migration' from salmon waters up north in Sointula all the way to the Legislative Buildings in Victoria, culminating in a major rally on May 8, at the Leg.

There's a panel discussion entitled "A Closer Look at Salmon and the Stewardship of OUr Food Resources" at Christ Church Cathedral, Burrard and Georgia (free parking in the Park Place Parkade!)

Food Gardening Workshops

Grant Watson offers 3 different workshops. He is a former organic farmer and has been teaching gardening to adults and children since 2003. He also operates an edible landscaping business www.gourmetgardens.ca.

All workshops run three hours. Suggested $35 donation, pay what you can.

Grow the Circle ~ Turn the Tide ~ Stand up for Wild Salmon

WHERE: The Vancouver Art Gallery, on Georgia between Hornby and Howe

WHEN: October 3, 2009, 1:00 p.m.

How about going to the Van Art Gallery Monday at noon? It's a global event and images will be sent to the leaders at the UN climate summit for Tuesday.

Bring cell phones, noise makers, drums, your voice. Quite a few of the activities in Vancouver will be there shortly after 12:00.

Every year tens of millions of sharks are killed because of finning, the cruel practice of slicing off a shark's valuable fins for soup and tossing the body back to sea alive. Sharkwater is amust-see documentary about the situation.

An Ecopsychology Group will be starting on July 10th. The group will meet once a month, on Fridays, from 1 – 5 pm. It's for anyone who wants to experience and learn ways that connecting with nature can be healing and therapeutic.
