We are past Peak Oil. Planetary oil production is now in terminal decline. Without energy growth the world as we have known it will change. Our oil based activities must be scaled down in a controlled fashion or they will be shut down for us harshly by the forces of nature. If the frightening implications of global warming did not stir you, this will do it.
