neighbours for a carbon-neutral east van

I believe that east vancouver could become the first canadian carbon-neutral community.  Much like communities declared themselves to be nuclear-free zones, we could come together to make a leadership commitment, inspire others and make a real difference in the world.  Let's talk about how to make it happen.

One thing I want to do to reduce my emissions before moving on to step 2 is to get my landlord to agree to a refrigerator upgrade... Then I'll calculate my emissions, choose which to offset and go from there.

This is a great idea. I don't have any bright ideas right now, but I'll think about it and post more later. Perhaps we can at least form an alliance with enviro-friendly businesses in the area?

i publically proclaimed my vision of a carbon-neutral east vancouver tonight at the "biggest show on earth" event. at this point, i haven't much more than a handful of ideas about how we might do it. if you'd like to join my quest, i'd love to hear from you.
