There are too few options for adding solar power options to your existing home and they are very expensive. Preheated hot water systems are in the $9000 range. Even with government rebates - right now they are about $1500 - that is too expensive for most people to afford. Photo-voltaic - ie solar powered electricity is not available in any realistic way for home use. It takes a vast number of solar panels and is also enormously expensive. We need to change the affordability and availability!
