I want to start working from purpose.

All my life I have squeezed myself to fit the job descriptions posted by companies I thought I'd like to work for. Although there were definitely things about those companies and jobs that were a good fit for me, overall they were not the right opportunity to do what I naturally bring to this world. Now I'm unemployed and I'm determined to do it differently this time. I'm not rushing to find a new job, just any job so that I have a place to be every day that pays my bills. I am really learning about who I am, what makes me tick, what makes me happy and how I can translate that into earning an income. This time, I'm writing my resume without a job posting sitting in front of me. I'm writing my resume by looking back at all the work I've done and finding that common thread that ran through it. And I finding out the common thread wasn't even something that was in any job description, it was something that I did in addition to all those defined duties. I am discovering that creating community and solutions are actions that have come from my essence. I like to support people in what they are doing and in getting to where they want to be. When I've left a job, I've almost always left a manual behind, detailing how to do the job that I'd been doing - succession planning! I am excited to see where these new discoveries are going to bring me and I can hardly wait to find my place to contribute.
