declutter my life

Hmm... it's been longer than I thought since I last wrote. I'm sure I did some decluttering in the last six days, I just can't remember what. I know I threw out some knicknacks and candles (and I'm trying to actually burn the candles I have, rather than just let them languish and get dusty).

Today I finished clearing out the space under my desk!

Back home now... just did a little today, some random things around the room. I threw out a couple of broken knicknacks--the cats like to knock stuff over! I also cleared some more stuff off my desk, though since I haven't yet gotten a new bag for recycling, I now have a pile of recycling sitting on my shelf. Er... I feel like I did something else, but maybe not! Oh well.

Today I worked a little. I looked through this box of beauty/personal care-type products I have and got rid of a lot of stuff that I will never actually use--soaps and toothpaste (they went into the bathroom) and things like that. I also got rid of some things from my desk, mostly papers. My desk looks significantly better now!

Okay, let's see if I can recall the last few days!

Yesterday I didn't do much--it was cookie baking day so I was pretty busy, but I did stick a few books up on my newly-cleared shelf. Today, though, I did a lot more!

I finally dusted today!

I did not get around to dusting today. I was feeling too miserable. I did actually manage to declutter a bit, though; I threw out an old keychain and a ratty pair of slippers and gave a comb I don't use anymore to my mom. And I totally used up a ball of yarn.

Yes, I'm writing this on the 20th... forgot to write last night! Well, I did a bit yesterday--threw out some old bath stuff (another thing people give me that I really don't use--I'm quite picky about what goes on my skin) and moved some more craft stuff to the drawers. I guess that was it. I've learned my lesson, though!

No decluttering happened yesterday. Well, I took a shirt that I don't wear out of a drawer. But I didn't actually do anything with it, just put it on the edge of my desk.

I recycled or replaced some Lisa Frank stuff I had on my floor--recycled the boxes and stationery, put the pens and pencil in my pen holder and put the envelopes where we keep envelopes. I also recycled a paper bag and took a box down to the basement where we keep them. Then I was able to move my yarn box into the space between my fabric bureau and the boxes of books under my ladder.
