to create new zoning regulations which encourage ecologically based clustered housing on, and stewardship of, agricultural land.
Posted on November 1, 2008
Many people desire to live communally and ecologically in rural areas, and are committed to local food production and the preservation of agricultural lands and their habitats. Current zoning regulations on agricultural lands, while they were set up to protect these lands, have effectively prevented any new models of sustainable living on these lands.
We need land owners to be stewards of agricultural land and of the environment, and thus we need provincial and regional policies and plans which facilitate this!!
