It's just complete laziness...

I have all these lame excuses for not bringing my lunch. 'It's a chance to get out of the office in the middle of the day.' 'It's a chance to catch up with friends.' 'It's a chance to socialize with my co-workers.' But it's not. It's stupid.

First of all, it's a crazy stupid waste of money. Insane. How much do I spend on lunches in a month? Seriously? Like $8/day, 20 days a month? That's a hundred sixty bucks a month. Woah.

And I end up using all these petroleum-based styrofoam containers that I would never normally use.

And I try to be mostly a vegetarian. Say 90% of the time. But my lunches are horrible. Chicken, bacon, whatever. Just total laziness.

What do people do to stay motivated to bring lunches?

Hey, I am notorious for not

Hey, I am notorious for not brining my lunches, but downtown has so many yummy places to eat out!! But there is something I have started doing, -granted it doesn't work everyday, some days I crave sushi or a sandwich from the corner sandwich place (the one with the lil baggie of chips-so yummy!!!) But this is my new trick... I bought a cool insulated lunch bag from the mall, pink for me since I am a girl, and I plan out my lunches for the week every Sunday night. And I mix things up... Some weeks, I go greek, with humus, whole wheat pita, etc. Plus, I throw in little snack pack of pudding or yogurt, a lil baggie of fruits, a drink in my funky new water bottle.... I think of what my mom did for me when I was a kid and I feel nostalgic. Making a bigger deal of making your lunches the night before and throwing in some comfort treats get you excited about eating your lunch.

And sometimes, I find my self gloating in the office lunchroom "Hey look what I brought in my lunch today!!"

Good Luck!!!
