Biking, or the lack thereof
I used to be quite a good biker, both mountain and road. Never really great, but pretty good, and I was happy. But ever since I got older, and got married, I have just become a total slug. I really need to just get out more, come home from work and just get on the bike! That is the life I want. And who knows I might start bike commuting too, I take transit everyday right now so I feel like I am doing my part for the environment, but what about zero-emissions? What about riding my bike?

I used to ride transit to
I used to ride transit to work every day. Now I ride my bike to work, and I can't tell you how happy it's made me.
I don't get a lot of time to ride other than my daily commute, but I find that the ride to and from (which is pretty far, I guess) feels like enough. I arrive at work feeling refreshed and energetic, and I get home feeling the same. Plus, I really enjoy the privacy of my morning ride -- I sort a lot out when I'm alone with my thoughts and my bike.
I encourage you to try out bike-commuting as a step to getting rid of your sluggish feeling. It's a great way to get back in the saddle. I mean, you have to get to work anyway, right??
Good luck, hope to see you on the bike route!

I have two kids and I've
I have two kids and I've settled on using the early morning hours for biking, swimming, and running. I've found it's the only discretionary time I have left! I usually am out the door by 6, often by 5:30. It can be painful, but it's been incredibly rewarding.

At kid number two, I'm
At kid number two, I'm trying to work out where I'd fit biking into my day. I'd commute, but I work from home. So do I try to jam a load of groceries into my panniers? Take my daughter's life into my hands by dragging her over the Burrard Street Bridge in a bike trailer?
Or am I just rationalizing?
