Ideas wanted what's "next" for these green-sustainable developements?

Ideas wanted - what's "next" for these green-sustainable developements?

Are you a consultant? If you have comments or suggestions on what I can do "next" about these, please kindly shoot them out ..

The revived battery process was chosen by Canadian Business magazine as one of the top three inventions for 2008.

http://www.livevideo.com/video/1C435D43E827472CBA151D000383FF38/canadian-business-magazine-cho.aspx

The revived battery process was chosen by Vancouver magazine as one of the top 10 "The New Green" inventions for 2008.

http://www.viddler.com/explore/gadgeteers/videos/6/

Because of the Recession / economic crash and Climate Change, I've
started a new genre of "green entertainment" with "Socially-Responsible
Entertainers", which addresses all three issues ..

http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=socially+responsible+entertainers&btnG=Google+Search&meta=

The Green Entertainers must use bikes or public transit

Here's a video clip of the crew, which arrived on bikes, at this kids party..

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=6UEY46X67x0&feature=channel_page

On the invention end, for sad people, I offer an "instant happytizer" device for events and parties,

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=50884717

Back to inventions: Here's the Vancouver Gadgeteers "nanopulser"
curing "Mother Herb" herself, of eczema allergic rash and Rosacea

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=Hlu8Q7ZrF-s

We also believe we have cures for cancer and obesity and lymphatic inflammation..

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=QiluqVIitYU&feature=channel_page

.. and an "electronic Botox" for facial wrinkles

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=SOmMpgHWPRc&feature=channel_page

On a lighter side, here's how I rescued a kids birthday party with
a really, really energy-saving light bulb -- no wires! (We do
"renewable energy" magic shows)

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=mbUOFp0z6Ak&feature=channel_page

We also recycle-reuse small dead alkaline batteries with a magic show theme, for festivals:

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=yhzvzxcQxcc&feature=channel_page

I walk (rather, ride) my talk on a revived-battery scooter, as shown on the North Shore News photo ..

http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=4KDSwdkp7QA&feature=channel_page

Where else can we go with these?

Thanks in advance for all feedbacks.

Cheers,
Al Gore Slide Show and No.Van.Mayor talk with our e-truck

Dr. Jim Stevenson and the mayor of North Van presented Al Gore's slide show (not the movie.) The slide show is interesting because it was customised by Stevenson for local content. We also took the Revived Battery electric pickup, which was displayed outside Capilano College's theater, and seemed to inspire lots of young people, as you'll see in these video clips.

What a lawmaker and citizens thought of a cost-free battery in an electric pickup truck

Here's a link to a video blog of what Jenny Kwan, Vancouver MLA and several citizens said about our electric pickup at the Mt. Pleasant Harvest Festival, where our EV was on display:

http://video.yahoo.com/video/play?vid=1119305339

The lady in the video (Jennifer, bchoney.com ) had excellent question about electric vehicle commuting for long distances, which many people don't know is easily doable with an EV because the corporate media brainwashes people into thinking that EV's don't have enough range.

Young people large unaware of Salmon Decline, Catch and Release Fishing

Sad to learn, during our festival activities, that almost no young child is aware of Salmon Decline or Conservation of fish stocks thru Catch and Release fishing methods. So, we at Solar Power Roadshow started something we call the Catch and Release Fishing Conservation Roadshow.. here's a video clip:

My EV Diary, part IV, link

Doing Errands with the world's first licensed electric pickup truck that runs on Revived Batteries

http://ev-diary.blogspot.com/

EV DIARY - PART FOUR

Early this morning, finally finished modifying our
homebrew "Basic Clamper" (battery equalizer device) to
make it run at a cooler temperature. Discovered a way
to position the heat sinks such that temperatures no
longer reached 230F degrees. The clamper needed a
container, so I planned to head off to a hardware store.
After breakfast, Sylvia asked me to get her a gardening
tool.

While doing these errands, people everywhere were
smiling when they saw the words, "Electric Vehicle" on
the truck. I spent about 1-1/2 hours answering
questions and opening the battery box. People seem
to realize, instantly, that the EV is an excellent answer
to the problems of Climate Change/Global Warming.

According to the ammeter the (9" Advanced DC) electric
motor was most efficient at high RPM's. As I stepped on
the accelerator, the amp readings rose at low rpms,
then dropped unexpectedly at high RPM. Consequently,
the gear shifter should stay at first gear much longer
than a gasoline engine's. I rarely used third gear.

I drove using a two-foot technique that works with
automatic transmission vehicles: Brake with the left
foot, accelerator on the right.

Because the electric motor was quiet, I was sometimes
surprised when I looked at the accelerator and saw that
the etruck was already going at 60KPH.

I also visited the folks at Science World, Swiss
Bakery, Ariel Café, Kingsgate Mall, Drive Organics,
Bikes on the Drive, Magpie Magazines, among others. On
Commercial Drive, the etruck parked behind a delivery
van from Uprising Bread.

And, I didn't forget Sylvia's gardening tool.

Later, someone who was looking advice for purchasing an
electric scooter came over, so we drove over to E-Ride.
She test-drove two electric scooters, while I followed
her on a chase scooter, for comparison.

Observations:

Finding electric outlets for charging an electric truck
is much more difficult than finding AC outlets for an
ebike.

We have made three breakthrough discoveries in respect
to batteries for this electric truck. Hard to explain,
especially when my results are contra-indicated by
Scientific American and Battery University's
publications. All I can say is that we've been shipping
thousands of batteries worldwide, most of which are
"impossible" according to these "experts". (I sent the
Scientific American editors a reply to their article,
but heard nothing from them. My reply should be
easy to locate with a Googly search.)

Rob Matthies

People love to talk to us about this, especially after the CBC aired David Attenborough's complete "The Truth About Climate Change", of which, part two was about solving what the scientists called, "a foreseeable catastrophe."

Peter Mansbridge and the CBC Newsworld's crew has been airing, nightly, devastating stories of the effects of climate change around the world. It pains me to watch this. Have you seen it?

This show compels me and my informal group of electronic hobbyists to put in an effort to put five electric vehicles, running from Revived Batteries (taken from a scrap pile, thereby reducing pollution at the same time) on Vancouver's roads.

We already have three battery breakthroughs in our electric pickup truck, which you can check out in the EV Album webpages. It is the first battery vehicle with a per-mile cost that is a fraction of the cost of gasoline.

However, we need more 'nearly- free-energy' cars/trucks on the road. Five such vehicles should inspire people everywhere, that they are not helpless, either.

Let's do it now. Yesterday.

However, we're just hobbyists, and are clueless about raising funds. We need help here.

Is there anything you can do?

Yours truly,

Rob Matthies
306 - 349 East 6th Avenue,
Vancouver, BC
V5T 1J9
( 6 0 4 ) 7 3 9 - 7 7 1 7

P.S. Have you read the new book, "Lives Per Gallon"?

Here's what the newspapers and TV said about
our 'no cost' battery electric vehicle:
http://tv-news-revived-batteries.blogspot.com/

EV DIARY - Part Two- WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR INDUSTRY?

EV DIARY - Part Two- WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR COTTAGE INDUSTRY?

Everything here is just my opinion, my two cents worth, and my opinion could be wrong, too.

Did you see the movie, "Who Killed The Electric Car?" and wondered why the dozens of small electric car makers never became more successful? In fact, almost all of them bit the dust, or went belly-up! The notable exceptions include CANEV in Vancouver Island, probably because most of his business is for airport utility trucks, not cars. The other notable exception is AC Propulsion in California.

Here's the bottom line: Electric cars cost 2X-10X more to operate, per mile, than a Toyota Corolla. (One exception is our electric pickup truck, which runs on nearly-free Revived Batteries.) Why? Batteries have a much-shorter-than-expected life in EV's, unless you have a work-around to prevent its early death. Early battery death can be as short as a several hundred miles. A new lead acid battery pack for a pickup truck would cost $3,500 or so. A new lithium battery pack for a pickup truck would cost $40,000 or so. Does this explain why only Tom Hanks bought the $90,000 eBox electric car?

So, why do lead acid batteries cost more than gas, you ask? In the words of some old-timers in EV's, "Batteries never die, they are murdered."

What is the weapon used to kill batteries, you ask? Its the battery charger, in my opinion. From what we could see in our electric pickup, the early death of batteries was caused by the Zivan battery charger -- the brand that is used by the vast majority of electric vehicles. We also observed that our Zivan NG3 charger's indicator lights indicated that the battery still needed charging, even though our multimeter indicated that the battery was already fully-charged and in the danger zone. So, we pulled the plug, even though the Zivan erroneously indicated that the batteries were less than 80% charged. Later, at least two batteries were damaged by the Zivan charger, imho.

As part of our review of battery devices, we tried battery voltage limiters ("voltage clampers") made by David Kronstein, a member of the Vancouver Electric Vehicle Association ("VEVA") in BC. We asked David to limit the battery voltage to a particular voltage. David's voltage clampers worked perfectly on our test bench. However, on our pickup truck, the Zivan battery charger overran the programmed limits in David's devices, unless we installed two clamper per battery.

This is today's entry for my EV Diary. What do you think? Have we found What Killed The Electric Vehicle Cottage Industry, or not?
