Making homemade non-toxic cleaning supplies

Many of the cleaning supplies on the market contain toxic ingredients that get flushed into our drains and waterways after we use them. Not to mention they all come in plastic containers that can be at-best reused or downcycled. Turns out that homemade cleaning supplies are actually quite easy to make.

According to the Kelly Coyne and Erik Knutzen in "The Urban Homestead" the three big ingredients that you really need are baking soda, distilled white vinegar and castile soap. (check out the book for recipes!)

Other additions can be essential oils, Tea Tree Oil, Hydrogen Peroxide, Beeswax.

Anyone with any tried and true recipes or tips?
