Vancouver strike : how it affects me

Well, I have to be honest, I think that my apartment building has private collection, because the trash and recycling seem to be gone faster these days than it was before the strike.

But, I do feel affected, and it is in the following way: When I walk around downtown, especially around Richards/Dunsmuir/Pender I see the filthiest street I have ever seen in this city. It is disgusting.

Then again, I noticed before the strike that Richards Street was not especially clean to begin with.

I would have to say that the worst thing about this strike is how it is affecting trash collection downtown. We are supposed to be a world-class city, but our civil politicians have turned our city into a garbage dump. And right in the middle of the peak of tourist season!

Sometimes I am so fed up with  the way things are done, I want to run for mayor myself so I can lead by example instead of being the power hungry Lionel Luther that we have for a mayor right now.
