I want to volunteer again
I used to volunteer when I was younger, in school and after school. But something changed. Life somehow got busy... and just when I thought it was busy, it got busier. Next thing I knew I was working at a job I thought I loved but feeling unfulfilled. So, after much deliberation, plus with other work factors to contribute to the decision, I decided to resign. I remembered a quote I used to adore from Guillaume Apollinaire,
"Come to the edge
He said. They said: We are afraid.
Come to the edge
He said. They came.
He pushed them, and
they flew..."
I didn't have a plan, but I knew that I wanted to add depth and meaning to my life. Going back to where I found this before, I decided I needed to start volunteering somehow again. But doing what and how? I've thought of the things I've done in the past () and I think I want to work with children. But how and in what capacity - teacher, activities leader sorts of roles appeal most, but we'll see.

OK - so after taking time
OK - so after taking time off after leaving my last job and getting some contract work underway, I've found something that really appeals to me. It's with Volunteer Vancouver and I've got an interview/meeting today to make sure it's a good fit - their need/my skills. Fingers crossed. I'm excited!

Do it. Whatever it may be.
Do it. Whatever it may be. The time is right now for all of us. Fly.
