"Green" our Company

So, I decided to relocate the balcony worms to my office, I hope they'll all get along. It was just to disturbing to see dead worms all over my balcony every morning...
Not a lot of progress on the whole "Greening the Office" yet. A few decision makers are dragging their feet and I don't want to be too pushy, otherwise it'll be a No for sure. So until I can implement the major changes I'll just do the smallers ones instead.

I have a backyard compost

I have a backyard compost bin so feel that I do my bit on this front but I choke at work at the amount of organic waste over lunchtime. If I could capture that somehow it would be really cool. I'd need somewhere to take the compost once it was ready but first things first.

Did you not have any health & safety chicken lickens telling you that it was a health hazzard?

I wish I could have a compost bin at the office, alas there is no outside space available. It would certainly make things a lot easier... My worm composting bin is in a stairwell, not actually in my office. Quite a few of my fellow employees are now giving me their green lunch leftovers. I have not had any comments that this method isn't safe, can you tell me more about those health hazards?

I hear you on this one Pelican. I'm wondering what size company you work for. BC Hydro has a lot of incentives, and you can have an energy audit done for your office to identify the opportunities to be greener.

Let me know if you're interested in hearing more about our energy audit service at PHH ARC Environmental.

Cheers,
RB

Our office here is very small, only five people, we have another office in Toronto with six people, and also three field reps. So it is very difficult to do an energy audit for the entire company. But we're leasing our office space here from a company that has about 80 people, all in the same building. I have very little influence over their decision-making but I am trying to make inroads, composting is my thin end of the wedge ;-)
