So... I have been thinking that there still is hope for humanity after all.  Have you ever read the book "The Tipping Point"?  Its about how little events and little changes can start to change societies behaviour.  The cumulative actions of many affecting change. 

I have to hope that each of our individual actions encourages us to participate versus just merly having a "presence" in society.

Ok, I admit... I love cars and motorcycles. There is something about the freedom and independence that an automobile or motorcycle affords a modern 20th century human. Unfortunately, I also realize I am amongst a group of grease monkeys who love the smell of petroleum products and unburnt hydrocarbons that is slowly becoming extinct... much like the dinosaurs of the prehistoric age, the mayans of pre-civilization, etc.

Noise bylaws for 'hogs'

Being a motorcyclist for close to 15 years now, I felt I had to comment too.  I agree that "hogs" or any other bike with a loud exhaust is obnoxious if used as a "noise pollution" device in our environment.  These few make the rest of us bikers look bad.

As an avid biker, I am careful with how I ride my bike in high-density community areas.  After all, I live in one too.  The vast majority of bikers are careful with how they ride in and around high-density housing , but unfortunately, there are a few who purposely seem to get a kick out of creating "noise pollution" in the environment as they pass through like a tornado...
