Re; Bike month
A couple years ago, I borrowed my girlfriend's bike and zipped around for a few minutes. It had been years since I had ridden one. I was hooked (again). The memories of tearing around various campsites as I was growing up came flooding back.
The next day, I bought a bike. A decently cheap one ($325 or so), just to get around town. I bought a big fat lock, safety lights, a helmet, and some sexy black dice valve caps.
A few months ago, my 'secure' bike room in my apartment was broken into, and due to a really crappy design of bike lock-points, a dozen or so bikes were stolen, including mine. I had never considered how silly it was to feed my giant lock through a little metal loop the width of a Bic pen until I saw how easily all those loops were cut.
So I'm bikeless. I'm hastily saving for a trip to the Dominican Republic, where I will be volunteering for two months in a small village doing agricultural work so I cannot afford even a cheap-ass bike. I do have my longboard, which is fun, but I definitely miss my bike.
SO! I hope you all bike yer little buns off this month, and do try and make it out to Critical Mass. Those are just way too fun... ;)

Hello , I don't know if we can help you out with a bike or not(that fits into your budget) but you can come and take a look and perhaps leave with a good deal. Also try the 'as is' department of Sally-Annes as they often have super ridiculous prices on something that may get you around. Good luck Johann Groebner ,Our Community Bikes!

I'll 'ave a look! I was actually going to head to OCB when I get back in Sept. and see about a cheap crappy bike. I'll wrap it in duct tape to make it even less appealing to thieves... I don't care about glitz and glamour ;)
