It's back.... again
At the risk of sounding like a raving lunatic, I was reminded again today by a friend/co-worker that DST is rapidly approaching. Thanks to our American cousins, we will now be "springing ahead" on March 11th this year, earlier than historically accepted and due to an (IMHO) unproven and misguided attempt to save energy.
I originally posted my "eliminate DST" post last July, and sadly have not posted since. Stay tuned, as I'm sure I'm about to start blogging in earnest. And everyone loves a good rant.... don't they?

You are precisely correct that the twice annual time shift has in no way proven its value in saving energy. In fact, the amount of time and energy required and the accident rate associated with such a radical and ludicrous attempt to 'cheat' time cost far more than any potential savings. Just like the decade-long prescription of thalidomide for morning sickness caused a human catastrophe of birth defects that no one wanted to question until far too late, so this unfounded attempt at social engineering has more than run its course.
