As far as I am concerned, the DTES is where the money for the Olympics should be going. Any claim to the contrary is merely immoral white noise. People should stand before profits. As long as we continue to look the other way and, time and again, aspire to live the unsustainable Jimmy Pattison lifestyle, the DTES will always be Vancouver's karma. It's millstone.
