Cat Lake is being targeted for development, to be turned into yet another ski resort and TWO golf courses! Any of you who have been lucky enough to camp at the stunning lake will know how special it is. You can help prevent this by giving five minutes (depending on your connection speed) of your time to write a comment in protest to this email address: eaoinfo@gov.bc.ca. Title your email 'Garibaldi at Squamish'.
They are planning to build town houses, hotels, a huge ski and golf course - the enviromental impact will be huge. This development will mean a huge amount of trees being cut down which will mean a massive loss of habitat for eagles and bears.

i've only been to cat lake
i've only been to cat lake once but once i was there we all had a great time. If they tore down cat lake it would be a big wast of naturle wondre. also were would the animals stay thats right they'd wonder out into Squamish

I am completly dissapointed
I am completly dissapointed in the fact that Cat Lake is going to be developed. I have been here in BC for only 3 years and have seen so much of the land being abused just for greedy developers. Cat Lake and surrounding area should be left just as it is. I have camped at cat lake for the past two years as many weekends as possible and I look forward to camping there many more.....
