City Hall votes down dedicating Olympics Legacy Fund for housing
I voted for the Olympics and now very much regret it.
This was heightened by the NPAs unwillingness to take a freakin' stand, and explicitly dedicate the wealth that will be generated by the Olympics towards cleaning up ... much less 'helping out' ... the homeless, the dispossesed. So we have a bland 'legacy fund' which could be used for crappy public art or whatever, instead of meeting fundamental needs of our less compelling citizens. Thanks for nothing, Mr. Mayor.
Anyone -even the person who posted anonymously on my blog earlier - with eyes can see the desperate need around here.
But I guess the NPA would rather assume that a Stadium down the block is going to do the job for them.
Discouraged, disheartened.
And I'm not even a homeless person!
