SAINTS
I dream of a place...
I dream of a place where I can be safe,
and I am free to just be me.
I dream of a place where I am loved, cherished,
and all around, I am loved for me.
I dream of a place where I can rest in peace,
and I have value, because I am just me.
I dream of a place where I can be special,
for no other reason than just because I'm me.
The world that we are living in today is full of many people who are unable, or simply unwilling, to care for the animals that they have sworn to love and cherish upon the day that they took them into their homes. SAINTS (Senior Animals In Need Today Society) is an organization that is dedicated in doing just that. I had the opportunity to go and visit this amazing place, and arrived not only to find dogs and cats, but horses, pigs, llamas and even chickens and a calf! SAINTS is a place for senior animals, but also for animals that have no where to go, and risk the possibility of being euthanized for that very reason. Unfortunately, there are many animals out there who face this reality, but fortunately enough, they have the SAINTS organization to fight for their rights.
SAINTS is specifically directed at caring for senior and special needs animals, as it is an end-of-life sanctuary. An environment that is full of love and proper medical care is provided by the founder and her team of volunteers. It is because of the hard work of the people, both within this organization, and the staff at various shelters, that these animals are able to enjoy their final days, as there chances of being adopted are very few. However, they have the next best thing at SAINTS. The grounds are divided into different areas for the different animals with chickens in their own pen, a great little trail for the dogs to run along with a pond for them to swim in, and a barn for the horses, pigs, cows, llama, and sheep. There is also a separate building that houses the rabbits and guinea pigs.
When I went to visit SAINTS, I have to admit that I laughed at the antics of the different animals, but I also cried for those who have had it rough. It was an experience that I will treasure forever, and has given an idea of what it is that I can do to help.

A very nice article written
A very nice article written by Michelle. I have never been to SAINTS, perhaps one day. It is wonderful to know that there are caring people who can assist animals in need. So many are neglected today I often wonder if having a pet is the right thing for some people. Pets can be such a comfort for a lot of people yet a burden for others. Thank goodeness for a place like SAINTS.

Saints is an amazing place.
Saints is an amazing place. It is a haven or perhaps I should say heaven for elderly and special needs animals who have no place else to go. Many of them have had a very difficult life because of ther problems and it is truly wonderful to see them settle down with consistent love, good food and excellent medical care.

Carol has had 18 family
Carol has had 18 family members ( her personal dog Bill and 17 animals that had refuge ) pass over the Rainbow Bridge this month.
All of them went loved, fed, warm, sheltered and away from the mental and physical pain that was part of their lives.
I think of SAINTS and I think of spiritual peace and love and compassion.
I think of Bill and the two chi's and Wilbur the pig and Copper the beagle from H*** who is such a coniving love,
and the horses and the epileptic cat and PIZZA (read Carol's blog for the explanation of pizza)

I volunteer at SAINTS when I
I volunteer at SAINTS when I can (it's a 3 hour round trip). I originally went there out of curiosity and was hooked by the wonderful collection of crazy critters of all kinds and sizes. Last time I was there, I helped rake poop out of a pasture in the pouring rain for three hours. Sounds miserable? Not a bit. I was kept company by the pasture manager, an aloof llama, and two friendly donkies. The sheep preferred to find shelter.
I can tell you the male donkey gives wonderful nuzzles - a great substitute for human hugs. Afterwards I dried off inside and sat by the fireside, in the twilight, with Carol and surrounded by animals. Peace and tranquility reigned all over SAINTS as everyone snoozed except us. That alone shows the power of the kind of unconditional love and great care, that is provided by SAINTS, and is returned in trust by all of the animals who live there.
PLEASE vote for SAINTS. The money will be well-spent and stretched until it squeeks!

Thanks for bringing
Thanks for bringing attention to SAINTS and here's crossing fingers and toes they will get the much needed cash to help these wonderful animals. I was there on year ago and I check the blog daily at their site. Carol fascinates me each and every day with her wisdom and love that she puts into caring for these animals in need. My heart was never so affected when I first walked in SAINTS and saw all of the crippled and broken animals. The fire place was burning and they all had their special little beds. This place will bring tears to your eyes if you have the privilege of ever seeing it. The volunteers are there for Carol "on-the-spot" at all times of the days, however, Carol is the one that lives with these animals and her days are filled to the brim with very hard work to keep SAINTS running as a full-time employee out of the home as well.
PLEASE SUPPORT THIS WONDERFUL HAVEN and give them your vote!
