how to host a clothing swap

OK, CLOTHESWAPS have been the best way going to breathe new life into my closet. If you too are looking for a "new" yet nicely-worn-in thin cotton shirt that already feels like someone loved wearing it, here's your method for trading in and trading up in the clothes department: 1. Cull your closet for clothing you have not worn in 6 months and load items into a big bag 2. Call your girlfriends and tell them to tell their friends and their friend's friends 3. Volunteer to host a gathering of women with their bags of clothes to trade 4. Make a big pile of clothes in the middle of the room 5. Socialize; provide drinks and tasty food 6. Choose 2 hosts, one will model each item of clothing and call out pertinent info like size and materials, and one will pass out playing cards to the women who put up their hands to show interest - top card "wins" 7. Make a full-length mirror available, women try on the clothing they have "won", and if it doesn't fit or suit the item passes to the next 8. Leftover clothing at the end of the night gets bundled up to go to a women's shelter 9. Everyone walks away with "gently-loved" treasures that friends will instantly recognize in the weeks and months ahead "hey, that used to be my sweater! It looks so great on you"

Wild Rose detox - the aftermath

so, for 12 days, I ate no fermented goods, no sugar, no processed foods, and drank no alcohol. It was a cleanse supplemented by an assortment of Wild Rose endorsed herbs. The biggest AHA result was that I recognized a dependence on sugar - JUST LIKE when I was a kid and had to make a regular stop at the corner store. The other surprise was how common an ingredient sugar really is in everything we eat - pasta sauce, fruit juices, and so many other "healthy foods". SUGAR has just hit the list of things to get rid of; attempting to shed a petty addiction that frazzles and depletes my energy as I crash and burn, crash and burn throughout the day. Already the monumental nature of the commitment has begun to sink in, no more ice cream, no more chocolate... I have a sneaking suspicion, at the same time, that if I can just kick it for say a month, I may be able to reintroduce limited and conscious amounts back into my diet.
