Georgia Strait Alliance is Working Hard to Change Something

Written by keeping down

Georgia Strait Alliance is an organization committed to change.  The Strait of Georgia, located between Vancouver Island and mainland BC, is one of Canada's most threatened natural spaces.  The mission of Georgia Strait Alliance is 'to protect and restore the marine environment and promote the sustainability of Georgia Strait, its adjoining waters and communities'.  This is a mission that all British Columbians should rally behind, as most of us have a connection to this incredible body of water.  Whether our home, our work, or our fun takes place in, on, or near the Strait, we all have an impact and a role to play in keeping it beautiful.

Whether Georgia Strait Alliance is working to protect endangered species within the Georgia Strait, stop it's city's from dumping their sewage into the ocean, prevent toxic chemicals from entering the environment, teaching boaters to minimize their impact, or protecting the Strait from the negative impacts of Salmon Farming, this is definately a worthy cause.
