Wireless Energy?
Have any of you heard of this new development?
Wireless Energy? Really? So I am not going to have to plug in all my wireless gadgets anymore? I think some changes, while they might be convenient are just plain weird. I mean, I wonder what the impact of energy passing through the body will have.

First of all the energy
First of all the energy being transmitted isnt electical, its magnetic, and prob doen't do anything to you unless you have a pace maker....
I think its awesome and power won't be wasted because you're not transmitting it, you are just running it through a big solenoid (coil of copper)

(I am sorry for making a mess in your blog! Is there a way I can delete the test entry below? If so, it sure isn't apparent!)
Back on topic -- I am worried about the power density involved in sending large amounts of energy around like that. Mind you, I'm not the type to fear microwave ovens, but this scheme would have to dump millions of times the power leakage of a microwave oven in order to get just a few watts into a remote device. No one really knows what that power density will do to people. There is increased cancer among amateur radio operators studied, but correlation is not causation, and some cite other life-style issues. (Breathing soldering flux fumes, etc.)
It is also a gawd-awful efficiency problem, at a time when we should all be thinking of ways to reduce energy consumption, rather than increase it! I'd be surprised if they can do much better than receive more than 1% of the transmitted power.
The "resonance" the referenced page wrote about simply means using efficient antennas. You're still going to lose perhaps 99% of the transmitted power.
My qualifications: ham radio license for over 30 years, former radio frequency electrical design engineer.
