ikate need ipod charger
recently my car was broken into. among other things and for whatever reason, the person took my ipod charger. i noticed my default was to just go to the store and buy a replacement. but then i started thinking that it would almost be a sin to do that; there is already so much junk in this world. then i got to thinking: i have got to be able to find someone who has upgraded their ipod and now has multiple chargers. so even though walking to work is a lot less pleasant, i am going to hold out until i can acquire a charger for my ipod without contributing to a landfill somewhere.
i wonder if we could start a movement to swap chargers and cords and things...?
in the meantime, do you have a spare ipod charger? (for the 80G kind)

I've had a lot of luck with freecycle myself, and of course there's always craigslist. If you post a "wanted" ad you will have more luck than if you only search.

hi Kate, A few more options
hi Kate,
A few more options for you:
- Free Geek offers "ethical computer recycling" for Vancouver. Perhaps their very large collection of pre-loved gadgetry will include a charger?
- I once landed at a hotel and realized I'd left my cell phone charger at home. I called their lost and found, and sure enough, some previous guest had left a compatible charger behind; the hotel let me keep it. I've done this since then too; most hotels have huge collections in their security or lost-and-found departments. So, next time you're staying at a hotel, try that route!
- Win a solar charger for your iPod -- and a new iPod nano to go with it -- by sending a Green Gift on Facebook. The charger comes from MEC, if you want to get one directly.

Hi Kate, The two places I
Hi Kate,
The two places I would suggest you post are Recycling Council of B.C. (RCBC). They have a place on their website to exchange items. Freecycle Vancouver of course is great, but better if you have something to give rather than if you are looking for something. Other than that I would give Craigslist a try. I'd be happy to lend you my iPod recharger, but I use it regularly.
Good luck in your search.
Any other bright ideas out there??
