I want this site to be constantly changing...
Change just is. There is no choice any of us have in the matter. Things are constantly in a state of change. This applies to everything. Everything. Embracing change can feel wonderful when it is a change like getting a puppy or starting your dream job. But embracing change is not always that easy. I have noticed that I often tend to want to have a lot of control over the direction things take as they are changing. One of the things I am learning right now is that some of the best changes seem to happen when they are allowed to happen the way the seem to want to. When it comes to how this site might change, this is where the people in this online community come in - I hope that members here feel free to write about changes that they want to see within this site.
I also want to write a little something on the power of intention. I am sure many of you can think of several things in your life that were kind of just noises in the background (maybe even stressing you out a bit) until you harnessed your awareness and set an intention; made a list of things around the house you needed to get done, bought a gym membership to change your physical state, you know that kind of thing. Look closely I'm willing to bet that the things in your life attached to an explicit intention seem to have more energy and movement around them. That is how you are a director of change. And that is how this site works. Put these two things together and changes can start taking place.
In the development stages of this project we had some of the Vancity staff play around with making change goals on the site. Even though some of the initial changes that were being made may have seemed small, the power of writing them down has been clear. Our very own William Azaroff has started bringing lunch to work within days of posting his change goal! (to learn more about his progress read William's Blog)
As the moderator of this site, and as someone who is learning herself how to have a peaceful relationship to change, I invite you to share here all the changes you want to see happen including changes to the actual site itself. Anything goes. If you think it, and you are compelled to share it, I encourage you to go for it.
