MEC BikeFest
Mountain Equipment Co-op stores across Canada are gearing up to host BikeFests. These one-day, family-friendly events celebrate all things cycling. They feature demonstrations, clinics, cycling vendors, and opportunities to try out gear and test ride new bikes. Find out the date and location of the BikeFest in your area.
And with all that biking, Vancouverites are sure to work up some healthy appetites! Good thing that the Vancouver powers that be are finally coming to their senses by allowing more variety when it comes to approving street food vendors. Japadog.. watch your back!

The Women of Distinction Awards began in 1984 to honour, encourage and recognize women whose outstanding activities and achievements contribute to the health and future of the community. Since then, YWCA Vancouver has honoured over 200 deserving women and workplaces. Recognized nationally as one of the most prestigious awards for women, the Women of Distinction Awards also honours businesses and organizations that support the diverse needs of their employees.

Car Free Day
Sunday June 20, 2010
Several locations throughout the lower mainland will turn into a car free zone in celebration of promoting alternative transportation. Join in the fun as you walk down the carless street and bathe in the warm rays. Get intoxicated by the rich smell of food as merchants and vendors will have stands outside their shops.
2010 Italian Day on Commercial Drive
After a 28 long years, Italian Day is coming back to Commercial Drive on June 6th (this Sunday)
It is rumored that there will be a rocking street party, pizza and the Super Mario Bros!
