Learning through reading...

I interact daily with people from various cultures and I find that I sometimes focus on our similarities rather than our differences, which does not necessarily negatively affect my conversations.

I came about this change while I was reading a couple of books - ¨Life of Pi¨ by Yann Martel and ¨The Kite Runner¨ by Khaled Hosseini. Learning about another´s culture requires me to live, breathe, and eat my way through a culture. Books and stories have that inspirational element that tempt my senses and piques my curiosity about the culture in mind. In many ways, these stories have inspired me to explore deeper and I hope that others have the opportunity to do the same.
