Designing for Democracy is the kick-off event for the 2009 Web of Change event series. Newbie’s to web technology and the non-profit world are invited to join this limited engagement starring one of North America’s leaders in technology, arts and social activism, Favianna Rodriguez.

Combining artistic skill with cutting edge web tools, Favianna has led campaigns on such diverse issues as war, immigration, globalization and racism. She is the President of TUMIS, a flagship of innovative web design that has participated in hundreds of progressive projects. She is also the cofounder of Oakland's Eastside Arts Alliance - an artistic collective and multi-ethnic community that she cofounded.
