Hey, everyone, This is BIG!

The Cohen Commission opens on Monday Oct. 25th. Come to Vanier Park at 11:00 am, across the Burrard Bridge from downtown Vancouver, to join a lunch time rally on the same day. For too long this fishery has been mismanaged. Now is the time to correct this. Please join us in in letting the commission know that we want justice for Wild Salmon.

A message from Alexandra Morton:

“I have spent 20 years trying to bring reason to the Norwegian salmon feedlot industry but government is blindly subservient to them. As I travel the 1000 km of the Fraser system people are saying they don’t know what is happening to their salmon. I now see the salmon feedlots as an annual Hells Gate disaster. Some years they get through because the farms are empty or clean, and other years they run through farm effluent like sheep dip. Every wild salmon from Talka, Stellaquo, Quesnel, Chilko, Adams and beyond are bathed in farm bacteria and viruses. If we want wild salmon it is up to us. October 25th BE THERE to tell Justice Cohen we support him in finding the truth. Join us in a powerful, peaceful show of support on the opening of the sockeye inquiry. Unless there are thousands of people present we will never learn what diseases wild salmon swim through as they run the salmon farm gauntlet.”

The full schedule for the day:

10:00am Flotilla gathers in Vancouver Harbour
11:00am Stand Up for Wild Salmon march from Vanier Park, across Burrard Bridge to DFO’s Vancouver office and then outside the Cohen Commission at the Law Courts
