Calling for Emergency Measures to Protect Wild Salmon

Georgia Strait Alliance and our partners at CAAR are calling for an emergency measure to close all fish farms in the Wild Salmon Narrows, thereby creating at least one safe passage for BC’s salmon through the northern Georgia Strait. This is in response to recent DNA evidence showing Fraser River sockeye infected with sea lice near farms in the area, and the ongoing inaction of the provincial and federal governments to support the transition of the industry to closed containment.
