UBC Architecture 'bike/neighborhood/greenway video project'

Try out Change Everything

Hi all you Vancity bikeshare everything changers,

I have a unique bikeshare request:

The UBC School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture hold an annual workshop for each year's incoming students. We wanted to give this year's project a strong bicycle component and I'm hoping you might be able to help us. Here's a brief description of our project:

Students will explore Vancouver through its greenway system on bicycles. Each group will be assigned a different part of the city to focus their attention and create a video describing the greenway, the area's character, and their bicycle adventures traveling from the UBC Architecture downtown studio (located on the edge of Chinatown and the Downtown Eastside) to their site.
Our goal is for their projects to be presented publicly in a 'block party' style video exhibition on Carrall St. in conjunction with SWARM (annual open house of Vancouver's art galleries, Sept 7).

The problem is we have approximately 65 students participating in the project and only a small number will have their own bicycles. Their project begins Aug 27th and we're hoping to give them three days of bicycle access (27th, 28th, and 29th).

Would there be anyone willing to part with their bikes for these few days?

Thanks.

Or you might want to try

Or you might want to try getting members of the Vancouver Bicycle Club to help you by participating in the project. Or put notices up at local bike shops. Might be a little easier to make that happen then to get people to give up their bikes to strangers.
