Friday Aug 30th: Make a difference!
I don't often send personal requests for actions. I am today because this is a critical moment in the history of our province. More than likely you have never been to the Sacred Headwaters, the birthplace of the Skeena, Nass and Stikine Rivers. If you have been lucky enough you know, it's truly one of BC's most valuable and pristine resources and the life blood of the Tahltan First Nation.
Tomorrow is our opportunity to demonstrate to Shell Oil that we will not sacrifice our most precious resources, and the life blood of a people to support their profits.
Know that your support matters.
I hope to see you at the rally. Deets below.

RALLIES AGAINST SHELL COALBED METHANE TOMORROW IN VANCOUVER, SMITHERS
First Nations and concerned citizens will rally in Vancouver tomorrow to protest Shell's coalbed methane project in northern BC's Sacred Headwaters.
The event will include an appearance by Dr. David Suzuki.
When: Friday, August 31, 2007, 10:00am
Where: In front of court building, 800 Smithe St.
Last week, First Nations people from the community of Iskut blockaded Shell's access to the Sacred Headwaters. Tomorrow's rally coincides with Shell's appearance in court, where its lawyers will try to obtain an injunction against the blockaders. Should this occur, arrests could take place as soon as next week.
The Sacred Headwaters is located south of Dease Lake, and is the shared birthplace of the Skeena, Nass and Stikine Rivers. It is the traditional territory of the Tahltan First Nation.
Over a dozen international environmental organizations including Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, Sierra Club and the Natural Resources Defense Council co-signed a letter to Shell last month urging the company to withdraw its drilling plans.
A Similar rally is being held in downtown Smithers BC at noon tomorrow.
