Not a bad Return on a Bribe

For the sum of $2,800 and loud vocal support of Plan A and Abbotsford City Hall I see that Spirit of BC stands to gain $20,000 from Abbotsford City Hall. Pretty good return on their bribe – I mean investment.

Of course City Hall will no doubt claim the so-called “donation” and the loud vocal, public support for Plan A and City Hall has nothing to do with the $20,000 they are in the process of “negotiating” to pay Spirit of BC. Just as Plan A was to only cost $85 million, the provincial government was going to give Abbotsford $$$ millions to pay for Plan A, that the City needs a basketball court and white elephant of an arena more than any other recreation facility.

The passage of time has revealed no provincial funding, costs have already soared to 108.6 million, before construction has even started, and the mess Abbotsford City Hall’s bad decisions made on the Centennial Pool tank replacement have clearly shown that the most needed facility in Abbotsford is another pool, preferable a 50 metre pool suitable for competitions.

Citizens are left wondering what the passage of time will reveal about just how much the remaining $57,200 in bribes, or as the City apparently calls them – donations, will cost; are costing; have cost the taxpayer.
